Duane syndrome & Asymmetrical Crying Facies

My 6 month old daughter was noticed to have asymmetrical crying face (drooping lower lip) right after she was born, and has now been diagnosed with type 1 Duane Syndrome on the same side. I had presumed that her lip issue was due to some birth trauma, but was nervous to get genetic testing to confirm. Are these two conditions frequently linked congenitally or is it further concern for the trauma?

Any advice would be amazing thank you.

You should see a pediatric ophthalmologist.  There are different types of Duane's Syndrome.  Surgery can help but never make entirely normal. it would also be important to make sure she doesn't have Moebius Syndrome  https://ghr.nlm.nih.gov/condition/moebius-syndrome
