Epi Sclerosis? Help

I had a very red eye and I went to my eye doctor and he diagnosed me with, I think he said epi sclerosis? And he prescribed to me Fluoromethol (some steroid?) I think, and my red eye went away but once i stopped the treatment it came back a week later and i keep getting it on and off now, in both eyes. What is happening? Should I keep taking the drops? Is there a problem with my eyes?

The condition is episcleritis or inflammation on the surface of the eye. It's not an infection. Think of it like tennis elbow of the eye.  If it persists or reoccurs frequently you may need to be tested for certain body diseases that can cause this to happen: examples rheumatoid arthritis, gout, inflammatory bowel disease, etc.

If your "eye doctor" is an Eye MD ophthalmologist return to see him/her as long term steroids have many possible side effects. If you are seeing a non-MD non-physician optometrist switch to a real physician. Find an Eye MD near you at www.aao.org

No they are uncommon at your age. Other causes can be bad fitting contact lens, tanny booths, exposure to arc welding, previous injury,

One more quick question, do you think that any of those body diseases are common for someone in my age group? (15 yrs)
