Explanting IOL

I have had nothing but problems with my Acrosof IQ sn60wf with blue light filter for the past 5 months and seems to be getting worse (the first month was better).  I am seeing iol, darks shadows, flickering when I try to read or look down, sparkling, ghosting in lower lights, long streaks through lights at night, seeing a blue light beyond where the lens ends etc.  I cover my eye sometimes just to get away from it all.  I need to have this horrible thing explanted and the Doctor is resisting trying to tell me everything looks fine.  Can you please tell me which lens you would recommend for someone with my problems (seeing the lens bothers me the most).  Do you think a round silicone tecnis would solve some of these problems?

Thanks
Yvonne

Are you describing negative dysphotopsia?  A crescent shaped arc temporally (on the same side as you ear).  This can be fixed by a secondary sulcus IOL or reverse optic captures.  It if seen rarely in eyes with perfect surgery.

He is describing POSITIVE dysphotopsia. It's fascinating how patients must explain things doctor should do. And it's fascinating how some patient must start studying principles of ophthalmology and read hundreds of researches about dysphotopsias because they don't find any help from the so called "specialists".
Since the patient is describing a "dark shadow" it would be negative dysphotopsia.  And there are hundreds of articles written in medical journals about dysphotopsia, I've written some of them myself. there is much research going on in lens design to prevent them. In the last 3 months two of our medical journals have had major reviews.  Don't be so bitter.
