I was recently diagnosed with myopic CNV with bleed.

I have received 2 shots of Avastin up until now.The greyish blob in my central vision is slowly clearing up. I would say about 20 %. Sounds like a long way to go. For the past week or so I am seeing sparkles in the periphery of the greyish blob. My retinal doc took a look at it, told me not to worry about it. Did not tell me what the sparkles are due to. How long would it take for the bleed to clear up ! How do I know if I am going to develop scarring. What do these sparkles mean. Thanks for any help !

Yes what you were told is true. Most people need a long series of shots using a protocol of 'treat and extend" but 5-9 should would be typical range. No way to predict how much you will recovery. Take solace in that before the injections it was almost always down hill and vision ended up about 20/400.  Be sure you take care of yourself, live healthfully and don't use any nicotine or cannabis.  The lights/sparkles are usually due to regression of blood/swelling and some scar/fibrosis.

Thanks for your response, appreciate it. I don't smoke nicotine or weed. Is Caffeine OK, or should that he avoided as well !
Caffeine is actually good for you.  2-3 cups reduces risk of diabetes, dementia, parkinson's disease.
