Eye pain and funny vision symptoms...

Hey there. Recently I have been a little obsessed with my vision and I have been to an optician who said my eyes seems good (they couldn't do a dilated pupil test so I have to go back but she said she could see most of my eyes as my pupils were quite large. I then started to notice flashing lights and a dark spot in my vision when I looked the extreme left or right (maybe this is just me putting pressure on my retina? Hopefully it's normal) and now I notice that after trying to see this abnormally and looking left to right a lot I have a lot of eye ache.

So really my questiona are...

Is it normal to see a spot / flash in the center of my vision when I force my eyes to look as for right and left as possible and also would looking left and right for a few minutes cause my eye muscles to ache or is that not normal? Just need a little reassurance. Thank you.

Usually that is just the eye muscles (medial and lateral recti) pulling on your retina.  If it happens when you are looking straight ahead its a wholly different deal.

Thanks for your answer. What would be the reason I can see the pulling a lot more at the moment than any other times? I've ever asked friends and family to do the same with their eyes and they do not have the same issue as me.
Generally these are more noticed and troubling to people with high anxiety.  That is all I can say. rest should come from Eye MD that can actually examine your eyes.
