Had a question about cornea stitches?

I went back to my cornea dr end of June 2019  but in April I had a corners transplant but when I went back June  one stitch came loose I was nervous once he put numbing drip and antibodies in my eye how do u stay calm when seeing needle and freezer coming at u? Plus how do u know if u have more coming loose since it healing good  can it make I sick or just itch or what ?

A cornea transplant often requires a lot of stitches sometimes a dozen or more. These usually either have to be removed or fall out on their own.  It usually is painless. If you have trouble holding you eye open the eye MD can hold it open or put an instrument (speculum) that holds the lids open. Usually doesn't take more than a minute or two.

I ask  my cornea Dr how many stitches had left after he removed the loose one he said 15 heard they hsvr to be taken out but they can get loose and then he said to come in  but how do
I tell if they loose or not is there signs

If they get loose and stick up you will feel a scratchy sensation like something in your eye.  Sometimes they come loose and you don't feel at all the Eye MD sees them when you have check ups.

Thanks for thst  but how do u stay calm and not nervous when they take them out I always get nervous or anxious dometimes I know it doesn’t hurt just taught of a needle and tweezer. Just feel weird seeing it but numb and how do u stare & stay still any any of advice

If you made it through a cornea transplant you can certainly make it through a simple stitch removal.  Past that I'm not a psychiatrist or psychologist.

Most everyone is nervous when knives and needles are being used on them. Just accept it and hold still.

True there  I usually out when knifes coming st me in oR but u right we all get nervous  but u can see it thst ehat mskr u nervous alittle but doesn’t hurt but it just strange feeling
