Has something in my eye torn?

Hello everybody,
so I am freaking out right now, I just visited the eye doctor and he was examining my eye when I suddenly saw these really weird looking shapes...they looked like roots of a tree or something! the shape soon went away but I am scared that maybe the doctor pulled my eye down to hard or something and damaged my eye.
what could this weird shape have been?
answers would be very much appreciated!

You were seeing your eye's blood vessels.  This is normal when the eye is exposed to the bright light of an indirect ophthalmoscope, which is used to examine the retina.  No harm done.

The roots that you are seeing are the small veins etc. in your eyes when a powerful light is being used to look in your eyes. I guess we all see these when having our eyes examined.

I meant to say tiny blood vessels.
