How serious is an optic disc abnormality

Hi everyone my 8 year daughter suddenly developed blurred vision in her eye on Monday. After mri's and tests it's found that she has an optic disc abnormality. From what Google says she won't get her vision back and it cant be fixed and can get worse. Anybody live with this? Or know anything about it. Will they give her glasses for that eye? Google just says there is no treatment. Thank you

That is too vague, like saying child has "birth defect".  What is the optic nerve abnormality?  Optic nerve hypoplasia? Optic nerve drusen?  Optic nerve coloboma?   You will have to be more specific

I don't know yet. Won't find out until July. That's all I was told. I think she said something about there being a split in it. But that's all the information I have

Ask for a copy of your records or ask for a definitive working diagnosis so you can do your research. that is pretty much a patient right the world round.
