How to stop myopia from progressing and a good treatment or surgery for high myopia?

Hi. I'm a 19 year old girl. I have -9.00 power in my left eye and -7.75 in the right. I have also had lattice degeneration and had it stitched by the doctor with the help of laser. I'm highly worried about my eyes because I'm currently doing MBBS and do not want my eyesight to be further weak. The continuous use of glasses and daily-wear contact lens are also inconvenient.

There is a world-wide epidemic of myopia and especially true in Asians.  There is no question that prolonged near work from computers, reading, iPads, iPhones, video games, etc. has a role in this. HOWEVER it is not advisable or practicle especially at your age to stop doing those things you need to do for your education and ultimately to get a good job.

There is no way at your age to stop the progression of myopia. Your options are:  1. wear glasses or better vision with contacts 2. Surface of the cornea refractive surgery. Advances have made the amount able to be corrected much higher than the original intracorneal LASIK  3. Intraocular contact lens. I do not recommend this option  4. Clear lens extraction I do not recommend this option.

So you probably need to consult 2 or 3 experienced and highly regarded cornea/refractive surgeons to get their opinions.
