What does it feel like when oil leaks or breaks down within eye?

Hw9
I had a complete detachment of retina 2years and 9months ago they used surgery and gas bubble . The retina detached again as soon as bubble dissipated, in weeks. Second surgery they put buckle and oil in .  I have a lot of scarring in middle of eye so vision is poor.  I have now had oil in for almost 3 years. I just wonder what signs and symptoms i should be looking for if oil fails, or it i should worry about long term issues with oil.

Oil doesn't 'fail'  and oil has been left in eye for decades.  What you would be looking for is new symptoms or worsening of vision.   Most of all protect your remaining eye as it is a high risk for RD.
