Inflamed plica semilunaris

Hi there. I have been experiencing inflammation in one of my eyes for about 5 months now. The inflammation is solely coming from the plica semilunaris. My ophthalmologist has advised me that I have no sign of dry eyes but that he can see ‘roughness’ in the corner of the eye. It is not itchy but occasionally feels like something is inside my eye when I close it. I experience redness which is probably bothering me the most. My ophthalmologist is not sure what is causing it. I have been taking pred forte drops for about 3 weeks now and no improvement. If someone could give me some advice it would be highly appreciated. This has been really stressing me out for a while now :((

If the problem is no better after a month of steroids then the area of inflammation probably needs to be biopsied. The alternative would be a referral to an ophthalmologist that specializes in cornea/external disease.
