I made a mistake when ordering my glasses prescription.
My original prescription for the left eye was for +2.25 sphere, -0.75 cyclinder and axis 85. Right eye +2.00 only.
The prescription for the left lens I got back was +3.00, -0.75 cyclinder and axis 170. Right eye +2.00.
As an aside, and this may or may not be relevant, when I turned the glasses with the new prescription as above around so that they were back-to-front, I could see print quite clearly. Writing was blurred when the glasses were the right way round.
The company who made the lenses wrote back and correctly informed me of a mistake I had made, after I e-mailed them the original copy:
My order (left lens) was for +2.25, +0.75 cylinder (my mistake), and axis 85.
Would the left cylinder, of +0.75 have changed the rest of the prescription to +3.00 sphere and axis 170 or would the lens have come back as I had ordered as +2.25 sphere, +0.75 cylinder and 85 axis? Do we both take equal blame? I feel a bit of a fool if my incorrect +0.75 caused the whole prescription to be turned-upside down to +3.00 and 170, although I did write down +2.25 and 85 not 3.00 and 170!
In addition, I am just slightly concerned that the opthalmologist may have got the prescription wrong for the left lens, and that the left lens prescription should be for the right eye. The right eye is the weaker of the two eyes (I have to close the right eye so that my left eye can read the print. If I close my left eye and try to read with my right eye I cannot see print). See the aside note above.
Thank you for your help in anticipation
