Myopia in young children

My Daughter is 14 months old and now diagnosed with myopia of -10 D in one eye and -11 D in other eye. what are the treatment options. I am a family practitioner and I am concerned.

All this is information to get from the surgeon. Also discuss wearing glasses all the time with polycarbonate lens to provide protection for the remaining good eye.

Good Day, my son had undergone enucleation last 27 April 2012, so my question is; how old he can have his final prosthetic eye? how about the estimated cost said artificial eye? tnx a lot doc...

Nash191:  Life certainly isn't fair and I've been in Medicine a long time and I have to tell folks pretty near every day "the two most difficult questions in Medicine are "Why me (or my child)" and "Why now?

My son have similar problem to RAO362 daughter, he is 19 months old and diagnosed with posterior staphyloma so sad when the pediatric ophthalmology conclude need to undergo general anesthesia, in addition it has to remove the affected  right eye and replacing by an artificial eye.

She needs to be  under the care of a pediatric ophthalmology ASAP.  Especially if the child was low birth weight or premature to see if the child has retinopathy of prematuring or posterior staphylomas.
