Okay. Just wanted to confirm. So your vision with glasses, best corrected is 20/400. 1. You are legally blind. 2. You absolutely should not be driving. 3. Myopic macular degeneration IS a diagnosis and could cause vision of 20/400 However there is no really good treatment for MMD. 4. Your profile says you live in Atlanta. Emory University Dept of Ophthalmology is one of the best in the world. I would suggest you get your records together and go out there for a consultation on your eye situation. 5. If your vision is that bad you should not be able to read these postings. How are you able to read these web posts?
It just seems that because I don't have a specified diagnosis or am not elderly every dr. Seems to ignore me. Even though they all agree they have no clue why it is getting worse.
That is why I said my visual acuity WITH best correction is 20/400 OU and gets worse every month I go an see my Dr.
Remember its not what your glasses RX is or what your vision is without glasses but your Best Corrected Visual Acuity. There is no way to predict how much myopic macular degeneration will progress or if it will stabilize. Pregnancy is not a problem for high myopia, i.e. its not like a brittle diabetic getting pregnant. It would be foolhardy to stop driving if your vision meets states standards and you feel safe and comfortable driving.
