Sometimes an ophthalmologist can tell there is a neurological problem, like if the optic nerve is swollen (papilledema)  or one of the muscles that move the eye are not working (ophthalmoplegia) but in many cases it is possible to have a neurological problem and normal eye exam (small stroke).  If you have access to a neuro-ophthalmologist that would be the next step. Some of the tests you might need: color vision testing, macular and optic nerve OCT,  peripheral vision testing,   down the line ERG and VER and EEG

Thank you. I'm unable to see a neuro-ophthalmologist, but I just had an oct scan and peripheral vision tests, waiting for the results... My symptoms seem to get worse when i eat chocolate, what could be the reason other than diabetes?
No idea, hope your tests turn out well
