Newly enlarged optic nerves with history of Pseudotumor Cerebri and shunt?

I went to my Optometrist yesterday for yearly vision check and she advised me that my optic nerves are swollen or enlarged and they have not been before.  She did not seem overly concerned but I do have Pseudotumor Cerebri with a lumbar peritoneal shunt placed in Feb. 2011 after I started having seizures post Chiari Decompression in Dec. 2010.  I have been having worsening headaches over the last year or so and then I was diagnosed with Thyroid cancer and autoimmune thyroiditis this last fall having my thyroid removed in November 2017.  With my headaches getting worse over the last year or so and me being referred to a new neurologist with an appt. not being until June as my previous neuro is having health issues of her own and is elderly now, I am kind of at a loss as to should I wait or pursue this with my PCP and hope that she can be beneficial in tracking down if I should have some follow up on it or not.......

You should not be seeing a non-physician optometrist.  At least see an Ophthalmologist eye MD. At best see a neuroophthalmologist.  Your optom should not have acted nonchalant   This could mean your cranial pressure is up.  Relay these findings to your neurologist and ask him/her to refer you to a neuroophthalmologist.  This IS VIP.

Thank you! I have seen a neuro opthalmologist in the past but the nearest one to me is almost 2 hours away. I will see if I can get back in to see him. My visit with him last year was clear and all was good in Feb of 2017 with him. But as we all know alot can change in a year and I guess I have!
You have some very serious health problems. In that perspective  2 hrs there and 2 hrs back and 2 hrs at the office of your neuroophthalmologist is worth the time.
That is so true, at the time I was there last February, he released me unless I had further issues.  I am thinking this may be further issues ;)
Yes it is
