Ocular Herpes Transmission

Can genital hsv1 be transferred to the eye of someone who is negative for both 1&2 ( confirmed prior  via blood tests), if that person got vaginal secretions on their finger and rubbed their eye shortly afterwards?

Yes it is possible but unlikely if the amount of secretions was small and on the lids not the eye itself.

Would the infection show up in 2 days? His eye is now blurry and he has a bump on his eyelid. If the fingers weren’t “wet” from the fluid, just residue…. Is it still just as likely?
He does need to see an ophthalmologisst. A bump on the eyelid suggessts more a stye than HSV infection.
Ok, thank you!
