Pls what do I need to do to control my high myopia of -16D

A a 18 yr old student of University of Lagos with -16D in both eyes.Av been using thick minus lenses since 6 yr old.
Last year I had a Myopic hemorrhage caused by CNV(Choroidial neovascularisation) in the left eye.
I was given a Lucentis injection. Its working though;but please I wanna know how long before I gain full visual acuity in my left eye???
Secondly, how does it looks to wear 1.74 ultrathin lens as a myope of -16D...Is it still thick??? Does the eye look small even with d ultrathin
Thirdly, pls what Would I do now to prevent further damages to my eyes due to this high myopia.
May God bless you as you read and answer the questions IJN.

1. You do not have simple myopia you have pathological high myopia (> -6.00 diopters with myopic exudative macular "wet" degeneration.
2. Your injected eye may not recover the vision it had before the wet mac degen developed. You may require more injections in the future, most people do. Without the injections your central vision would likely have been lost.
3. Yes your glasses will look thick even with high index glasses lens but not as thick as regular lens.  Yes they make the eye look smaller, all myopic lens do, the stronger they are the more minification. Just the opposite for farsighted (hyperopic) they make eye and world look larger.
4. There is a world wide epidemic of myopia. Much research is going into what can be done to prevent or stop progression. In your type there is nothing that has been shown to help. You can reduce of more wet myopic mac degen by not using any nicotine/cannabis and living a healthy lifestyle.  You should not give up near work such as reading and computer and iPhone use.
5. You need to see an opthalmologist every 6-12 months the rest of your life and with any sudden change in your vision immediately.  Use an Amsler grid daily. If you don't have one read about, how to test and print one out.
6. Since the macula is 5% of the vision this probably would not make you totally blind but is a threat to your central, reading, driving vision.
7. With glasses that strong contact lens gives better vision as less minification and things look bigger.

Thank you Sir.God bless you.
I thank God;The Lucentis has really helped to emhelp me gain some lines.
There has been a significant improvement. U CAN NOW type on my Android Lenovo phone with the affected eye.
Pls what do I need to gain complete acuity or will my retina just grow back to normal shape
Frankly there is nothing you can do but keep in close contact with your eye MD ophthalmologist to determine if more lucentis needs to be injected. There is no way to re-arrange or restructure the retina. It may be several months before things settle down and the results are known. Without the injections there is usually severe distortion or just a central black spot.  Your Eye MD can show you the OCT tests and let you see if there is fluid, blood or neovascularization and help you visualize the structural abnormality.
Thank you Sir.
GOD BLESS YOU IN YOUR FIELD OF STUDY.
I also wish to study to Ophthalmology also but am studying Marine Sciences(Fisheries science) due to the fact I dint meet the cutoff score to study medicine and surgery.
