Thanks for your advice! I'll need to ask the specialist, but as I'm living in a more rural area, it will be some time before I can get a name... I'll let you know ASAP.
Thanks again for your consideration! :)
Thanks for the update.
If the technical name of your glasses occurs to you, I'd be very interested to know it! You could use the search icon (magnifying glass on upper left of screen) to read what others have said in this forum about seeing different image sizes).
What specialist prescribed the special glasses for you?
It may be worthwhile for you to get a second opinion, especially since it sounds as if your situation is fairly complex. What has your doctor said causes the slant and other symptoms? I've always liked getting as much information about my eyes as I could and have learned a lot from my second and third opinions.
I too am hoping for the best for you! And I hope the new glasses will afford you some relief.
Thanks for your reply. My doctor has advised me to wait for a further 10 months to see if there is further improvement. I also find it difficult with this condition. As I have slanted vision in my left eye, I have ordered a pair of glasses which raise the level of the image (not sure about the technical name), which hopefully will overlap the existing in the right eye. However, it seems that the slant can not be corrected with glasses alone. A friend of mine, who also has diplopia as a result of chicken pox, has advised me that the slant is caused by residual damage to the ciliary muscle, possibly a result from surgery.
Hoping for the best.
Thanks
I am sorry you are experiencing those symptoms. What has your surgeon advised? Do you know what is causing the diplopia? I am not a doctor, but I can share my experience as a patient. After a retinal detachment repair this past spring I was left with vertical diplopia and slanted vision. I had both a vitrectomy and a scleral buckle. The diplopia is really tough to cope with. I wear a Fresnel prism on one lens of my glasses (the one over my affected eye). It has helped, but muscle surgery for strabismus is under discussion.
I hope your situation improves soon and I wish you the best!
