Posterior capsule opacification (PCO) can occur any time after cataract surgery, earlier in young patients. 3-4 months is a little early, but not unheard of. If the haze does not bother your vision, and you are able to read, drive, work, etc., there is no need for an immediate YAG capsulotomy.
Obviously I meant Posterior Capsule . . . . . .
Yep - the haze has started, and I'm losing detail. The vision in that eye was incredibly clear two weeks post op. Now more like 20/30 and fuzzy, with haze around lights.
Thanks for your response. It's not bad enough for a YAG yet, but it looks like it's starting a bit earlier than I anticipated.
Hello, Dr Doreen
I have PCO. My vision is very poor because of that, but I'm at a higher risk of getting a RD. My question is: does the opacification stop progressing or does it progresses until blindness?
Thank you very much
