Punched in right eye, iris sphincter rupture

Here is my timeline so far dealing with this. Hopefully other can look to this if facing same injury

5 weeks ago punched out in LA on sidewalk
Waited three days to go to ER
Initial symptoms eye swollen shut and nose bleed, pain. Felt like eyeball was huge and vision went "dark"

Found out later had fractured nose and around orbital socket
Doctors found no muscles "trapped"

Over time as eye started to heal noticed my injured eye could not see as well, everything looked "darker" and with less visual acuity. About three weeks into this that went away, which was a relief

It is less difficult to open eyes in morning now. Earlier on it was difficult.
The eye still feels slightly "tired" in morning especially, and through day. Evenings I am feeling better. Days around 3 p.m. have been the hardest.  And about a week ago I could start to shut my eyes and feel somewhat comfortable. Earlier on it felt uncomfortable and seemed to be my eyelids. Doctor said i had some blepharitis

Less irritating to open eyes in morning. Seemed to have some foreign body sensation at first which has reduced. I think it might have been where the blood was draining, and scarring? But also same place as the iris sphincter rupture , 7 o'clock right eye

I felt a nice tickle yesterday in the iris. And today it was twitching for a moment.

At this point I am bothered by an irritating or strange sensation in eye, face, and throughout body. A bit of a weakened feeling hard to explain. What is going on

The doctor said to stop using steroid drops, i mostly have. Will COMPLETELY stop as that is doctors orders. I think it may be hurting.

Just wondering how the iris sphincter will deal with the rupture. I am having strange dreams. Feel like I cannot rest properly. My nervous system is having a hard time dealing

Please advise

Yesterday was burning sensation around eye area, now it is subsided a bit and the area seems to have spread over face. Was a slight foreign body sensation again in iris but since it has sort of spread out the sensation and numbed a bit. I'm staying relaxed. Happy the heavy feeling in eyelid and around periphery of eye has subsided.  Not sure if the strange sensation is from the iris or the nerve directly under eye as I'm dealing with facial fracturing

Where my nose was fractured there seems to be a but of cartilage or home loose like a small ball and it has separated from the nose and it sort or irritating. It looks a but like a zit and it is right where glasses rest on bridge of nose

Been grateful for the healing I have experienced
Since Saturday midday the eye itself has felt quite fine, and pupil quite big in low light, in sunlight it's about the same as other eye

Been slightly more uncomfortable today, not sure if due to stress, but feels like the eyelids or orbit area is sensitive

Feeling "damaged" and eye is sensitive
Along with facial numbness due to fractures. Anticipate this will subside in a few weeks what about the sensitivity the eye has been through a lot can it heal

Today was feeling some burning sensation and eyelid sensitivity or swollen or heavy feeling,  the area surrounding the eye burning a bit

It's feeling a little better now. I read online someone describing getting punched like a "burning happiness" that reminds you of what happened which I found humorous

I Just remembered today a time when I was punched in the jaw and it bothered me for about a month and I haven't thought about it since.  When I was speaking and eating

Hopefully I can learn from the lessons of the past, and avoid being  upset about cars out in the streets. When I was punched in jaw it was also someone from a car like this time, so if you like to walk a lot be careful ! Maybe someone out there can understand the frustration

Psychologically I want to feel the world in a better light but not become victim to my own adventurism and positivity
Any advice for me ?

Hopefully you have been to see an Eye MD ophthalmologist and had the eye dilated. In this situation the most important thing is to determine that the eye has not been severely damaged: blood in front of eye (hyphema), inflammation in front of eye (iritis), vitreous hemorrhage, retinal tear or detachment,  traumatic cataract or glaucoma.   It will probably been 6 months before you know how much  the constricting muscle of the pupil will recover. As you have read here sometimes this is permanent and some times not.  Stay off the cannabis. As you are finding out little good happens when you are stoned.

I have seen two eye MD both determined with dilated and undilated that there is an iris sphincter rupture at 7 o clock right eye

I haven't seen much information on how it feels or affects the body's nervous system it is supposed to feel paralysed, painful, weak or what ? it is starting to feel more like nothing , somewhat like foreign body sensation earlier or just a strange sensation throughout my nervous system.. maybe I am a bit sensitive .. then maybe just deal with some photophobia not all the sphincter was ruptured the pupil is round a small tear(s) visible to doctor it is about double the normal eye in sunlight and looks big in darkness
It would have no effect at all on your body other than making the eye possibly sensitive to light.  Any other problems would need to be attributed to other injuries you may have experienced,  drug use/withdrawal or the psychiatric problems you mentioned previously.

Today was feeling almost like a foreign body sensation or a heaviness in the iris earlier in the day, since it has been feeling the best so far since the incident but I am worried it may deteriorate

Have not been wearing a contact lens in the injured eye last couple of days due to sensitivity and wearing glasses as of this afternoon, no contacts all together

I am finally able to ignore some feelings and thoughts and stop reliving the event
I am tonight thinking I can recover from this
It is a positive feeling
I cannot allow something like this to happen again
Letting small things bother me could be the root
Last night was the best I have felt
Slept really nice and this morning woke up comfortably,  quite a relief

Today I am slightly bothered perhaps due to daytime hours, and slightly psychologically disturbed, but not nearly as bad and I am thinking to the future in a more positive light
Been telling myself "not out of the woods, yet" but yesterday it was more of a sarcastic or ironic voice in my head, I think it means I am getting there

Thanks for reading I hope this can inspire others. Take care of yourself.  If you have had trauma you should not it can come from a place that it "rational" as opposed to years of irrational fears compounded

*know
I do not have that "heavy feeling"
I started taking b vitamins and an eye supplement last night
Been taking omega3s
Surprisingly benadryl seemed to help with some of the symptoms around my eye, as I believe I read that here on the forums and it seemed to work
