Thanks Doctor for clarification
No, no, and no. We exam the peripheral retina by a technique call scleral depression. This applies pressure to the peripheral retinal through the sclera and require much more force than squeezing a meibomian gland or tonometer.

Thanks Doctor
After that incident (one ophthalmologist applied pressure on bottom of eyes using his thumb to evaluate meibomian gland secretion) onwards i am scared to see an ophthalmologist as he may again apply one like that.
can tonometry or other pressure applying eye tests have any side effects like floaters, blurriness etc ?
This was not caused by an eye exam. You need to see an ophthalmologist. A new onset of floater may indicate a retinal tear or one that may occur in the next few months. This could lead to a retinal detachment.
