RK surgery

I had RK surgery back in the 80's.  My current vision with glasses is 20/60 and 20/30 in the other eye.
I understand I am at more of a risk for cataract surgery because of RK and I am scared.
I have worn glasses since I was a small child.  Unfortunately the RK surgery only lasted a few years and then the surgeon disappeared.

What vision could I expect to have after cataract surgery?

How are your eyes now. Also post RK and need cataract surgery. But it all seems to be doom and gloom out there for people like us. I understand there are new lenses which are fluid filled and therefore allow more accomodation in the older person as it mimics the eyes natural lens and muscle contraction. They are called PowerVision and NuLens. Currently being trialled on humanns but probably not available for a few more years. I have been advised to try and hold out until they are available as these will be best for my RK

I had surgery on 3/6 and have had periods of double vision. My doctor feels it will take up to 6 weeks for my vision to stabilize,  The day after surgery my vision was 20/200.
Any other thoughts?

TIA

It depends on how healthy the rest of your eye is especially how much scarring the RK has caused and of course how surgery goes. Discuss with your surgeon.  JCH MD
