Retina detachment and exercise

Hello. I am a high myopic. an opthalmologist told me I shouldn't do vigorous exercise since its not good for my eyes. Is that true?

I agree with Dr. Oyakawa.  I took a racquetball to the eye, and even with protective goggles it didn't turn out too well for me.

No evidence for his statement.  However,  I would not do exercise which involves trauma to the head area.
