What is proscribed for the patient after laser treatment for a retinal tear due to lattice degeneration?

I meant, what should a patient refrain from doing doing recovery. I was told not to bend forward, lift anything heavy or strain. Is it okay to use my eyes a lot, as in reading or needlework or desk work? My head would be forward in some of those activities. Thanks for your suggestions.
