Scar tissue after chalazion surgery?

Hello,
I had a chalazion surgery on my upper eyelid in January. By now things have more or less returned back to normal. However, often as I wake up in the middle of the night and open my eyes, I feel sharp pain and discomfort that appears to be coming from the area under the eyelid where the chalazion used to be. If I invert the eyelid, I see some redness in those areas, which makes me think this is some kind of scar tissue as a result of the surgery. The feeling of discomfort is similar to having a foreign object in the eye. To ease the pain, I usually need to splash my face with cold water and after that things calms down, but it's often hard to go back to sleep, which makes this a very annoying problem. Normally I don't experience this discomfort during the day.
Any ideas what could be done about this or has anyone experienced the same symptoms following their chalazion surgery? I am a bit worried that this will remain permanent because it's been nearly 6 months since my surgery.
Thank you

Sharp pain is usually due to corneal problems.  See your ophthalmologist and have the area under your lid checked.

I forgot to mention that since the surgery I've been taking special care of my eyelid hygiene and clean my eyelids using ocusoft foam at least twice a day.
