Should I have IOL removed?

2 years ago, I had cataract removal surgery. Immediately, problems arose. IOP was in the 50s for days and wouldn't respond to drops, inflammation began, and the surgeon reported that the lens capsule had torn during procedure. His treatments were not improving anything, and the pain from drops became almost unbearable. He had not explanations, but remarked that I'd have to treat glaucoma remainder of my life.Vision was highly distorted for 2 wks post op.
Since then, I changed docs and was treated with drops, oral pred, for a few months and eye seemed under pretty good control Then, hell broke loose. Pressure couldn't be controlled (40s & 50s), inflammation was severe, nothing could quiet the eye.
Since then have had: vitrectomy (found fragments in eye, repositioned IOL,), laser to fix retinal hole, now Ahmed glaucoma valve, continued drops of every class plus pred forte, acetazolamide, tests neg for possible systemic cause, injection of steroid inside under eye. The pressure is down (with cosopt,) but inflammation is terrible. Still using pred drops BID, but the eye is red, painful, light hurts, and my vision is poor. In despair

At this point it is unlikely that removing the IOL would help.  Suggest you get 2nd and 3rd opinions from tertiary eye referral centers.  You may end up having to remove the eye.
