Small bump on macula, happened at the gym

Had an OCT scan (think thats what its called) showed a very small raised bump on my macula, looked a bit like a pimple type shape.
I have a small floater to the left of my central vision, makes lines appear slightly crooked until i look directly at the line then its straight again.
Waiting for further tests but the floater was noticed by me on Wednesday last week, went to the hospital on Thursday. Isnt it a bit unsafe for me to be waiting around for further tests to be carried out? Still not had a letter to say when they will happen.
Should i just drive to Moorfields in London and see if they can do the tests there and then if i go to A&E, im only 22 so i cant imagine it is macular degeneration. It happened when lifting weights but they werent particularly heavy ones. Any idea what it could be? Feel lost, depressed and struggling.
Thanks

So i had a call from the hospital. Apparently the retinal surgeon (who had worked at Moorfields for 2 years) has seen the scans and my entire past records and put me on a long waiting list to be seen.
His secretary said that he said its not urgent and surgery is very unlikely as the bump is so tiny. So we are likely talking weeks to be seen by him as its so miniscule.

Which leaves me unsure how to feel, should i feel good that its not apparently urgent, or bad that i still dont know the cause. But it is on my macula which scares me. What could it possibly be?

yes, if it is VMT.  I would wait months before removal of the floaters.  They tend to get better with time.  Also, a vitrectomy for VMT or floaters can cause a cataract.

Yea the retina was checked and all looked ok.
Can this be fixed and the floater removed? I can live with it but id rather it be gone, or at least not get worse

You  probably had a retinal exam before the OCT.  You may have vitreous traction  on the macula (VMT).  You need to discuss this with your doctor is any other changes were noted.  The VMT is followed before surgery or injection of a drug.
