Snail track lattice degeneration

Hi, Docs! I am a 24 year old(M) who has lattice in both eyes. (My Left - -4.75 and Right -5.25), I was told I had snail track marks on both eyes, with 5 holes on the left and 2 in the right and were all lasered. Just been stressed and worried about this hopefully never turning into a RD.

1. One of my docs said snail is an early version of lattice and the other said was different? Which one is right? Or is lattice the same as snail trace?

2. The doc said only 2-4% of people with snail track degeneration get RD in a lifetime even with holes, is this a true statement?

3. Is it ok to exercise/weight lift with these? As both docs had different answers...

Thanks :)

There is a lot of disagreement even among retina surgeons about which holes in lattice should be treated. Also its difficult to generalize about retina because the cases, unlike cataract surgery, are so much different.  A RD even in high myopes with lattice like you have.  I think 2-4% would be way too high.  (but again its hard to generalize) maybe more like 1 in 500-1000.  Heavy weights no, light weights usually. Standing on your head and contact sports like American football or soccer NO  roller coasters and other jar head amusments no.

Thanks Doc! And is Snail lattice the same as regular lattice? As my doc said usually it’s known for atrophic holes and is an early version of regular lattice?

Also, weights wise... what would you consider heavy? Thanks Doc!
It is form of lattice based on the way it looks. You can do internet search to see what it looks like and the tracks of the snail (for which it is named) in it. Nothing dire. I have lattice AND retinoschesis in both eyes. I'm a moderate myope.
Thanks, Doc :) for exercise I’m not trying to lift 300 or 400 pounds, just 100 or less with more reps on light weight. That would be fine? Walking, running. Nothing contact related or that will jerk my head.
As far as weights ask your Eye MDs for most people 100 lbs is a heavy weight
