Strabismus? Or Is it all in my brain?

I'm a 17 year old female that wears prescription glasses. My left eye has perfect vision while my right eye is slightly near sighted. Recently , I've decided to get contacts but when I wear them my one eye turns in. It's mainly my right eye but sometimes it's my left. I know it's called strabismus, but I don't think it's actually that because this eye turning only happens when I think about it or make eye contact with people. The doctor says he doesn't see it but apparently everyone else does. Any idea what's wrong or what I can do to improve? If it is all in my brain, how do I get it off my conscience?
