Veil or Floater in Vision? and Fireworks

Hey recently starting last week I started experiencing a vertical streak and a cloud type of veil/floater in my vision. I am confused as to which one it is a veil or a floater. If I were to describe it, it looks like an oval with many lines or http://www.flickr.com/photos/roberto_racca/3353714331/ except clear and the lines are a little grayish. I dont notice them all the time and sometimes on my left eye they just fall. Should I be concerned? I currently have floaters in both eyes and went to the ophthalmologist 3 weeks ago and they said my eyes were fine but this incident of these new visual disturbances occured recently after I went to a rollercoaster theme park? Is this serious and should I be concerned?

Also I would like to add that I have also been seeing fireworks in the center og my vision when I look at bright light or outside and then it stays there for a second or so when I close my eyes. This usually happens after I wake up from sleeping or napping. But then my eyes get adjusted and the fireworks stop. Any help or input would be greatly appreciated thanks!

I used to triage at an ophthalmology practice, so I can give a little advice.  From your description of veil or floaters could indicate a possible retinal detachment. Anytime you have changes in your vision, you should see your ophthalmologist. Also combining the veil, the fireworks, and visual disturbances definitely point to retinal issues. If your doc takes a look at your retina and it looks healthy, possibly inquire about Ocular Migraines. They can be the underlying culprit to all your symptoms. But you should be aware that once you have developed floaters in your eye, they don't go away. So you should really listen to Dr. Hagan and achillea and call your Ophthalmologist ASAP.

Yes you need to return to see the ophthalmologist. Ask to get in right away. AND stay off roller coasters and other amusement rides it puts too much traction on the retina.

i am not a doctor, but regarding your first paragraph about the streaks and clouds in your vision, the standard advice is that any new changes in your vision should be checked out ASAP.

There is no downside to calling your eye doc like today to find out what is going on.  And after all, your eyes are kind of important.
