Vertical Ghosting

Hello,

For the past few months I keep seeing vertical ghosting when I am reading anything like on the PC or TV such as subtitles and I am wondering what this could be? I went to see a optician who said I am short sighted and needed glasses so I got some and it still hasn't really helped that much. I am wondering what I should do next? Someone said I should ask for another test done as I might need eye drops as my eyes feel dry and look red at night. Eye spray hasn't really done nothing to improve it.

Thanks in advice.

Hi,

Thank you for letting me know. I will go back to the optician and asked to be referred to a specialist. My doctor doesn't think it has anything to do with my head pains/ migraines as I am suffering with occipital neuralgia  but the paramedic said they can cause vision problems though. So for me I just don't know what to do as everyone is telling me different things. I've heard a lot of people get this ghosting issue. I just want to know ghosting isn't the same as double vision is it as most people say it isn't but some people say it is.

1. one eyed 'ghosting' is not the same as true double vision.  2. migraine often causes visual symptoms 'visual aura' but ghosting is not one of them.
Hi, thanks for the reply. I went back to the optician even though I see it in both eyes they say everything is fine as and they said it is how I look at the screens etc. I can't really see it through my glasses anymore either just mainly on my phone. Other sites claim you can get it in both eyes and my councillor said health anxiety that is most likely what is causing the issue for me.
This is a common complaint posted at this eye website.  You can get a second opinion by seeing an Eye MD cornea specialist.  Your anxiety will probably play a role in all your health concerns.

you need to move up the chain of training/experience. You need to see an Eye MD (called ophthalmologist in USA) with special training in cornea disease.  You will need corneal topography, dilated eye exam, maybe macular OCT testing.  Causes include: needing glasses, improper fit or improper glasses, cornea disease especially irregular astigmatism, cataracts, macular disease.
