Vision Changes

A few months back I had a horrible eye infection...a week later my vision was hazy and I went to the Ophthalmologist he said I had infiltrates and prescribed Lotemax.  I was on it for about a month but I never got 100%, still can hardly see at night (see glare, starburst and halos)  I had to go to the doctor every week for a checkup.  Well, on my last checkup with the Ophthalmologist I felt as if he just blew me off saying that it was just going to take time.  I'm having a terrible time with glare and the vision in my left eye is horrible I can't see the letters on the eye chart well with my glasses.  I decided to go to the Optometrist since it was close to my work and I can get in and out quickly.  She prescribed Muro 128 for the edema and put me back on the Lotemax which I have been on for about 2 weeks at about 4x' a day.  My vision is in the left eye is still bad in fact I can't really read the eye chart at all when they refracted me in fact the letters look like they are bleeding like someone poured water on a piece of paper.  I am really scared that I am going blind in my left eye.  I wish someone could help me b/c I have to work and it is hard for me to keep asking off to get to these doctor appointments.  Any suggestions for what might be causing this?  The doctors are saying clinically that my eye doesn’t look that back so they can't figure out why I am not seeing well.  They seem baffled.

Thank you for your response Dr. Hagan.  My doctors do suspect the infitrates with ekc however the steroids seem to clear them up for the most part however I have never managed to get rid of the glare from certain lights.  The doctors say structually from what they see they don't understand why I'm having so much difficulty.  This is really frustrating for me and them because I have had to keep going back for followups every week for the past 8 weeks.  I just want things to be normal again and to wear my contacts because glasses make the glare worse.
Any suggestions as to what else could cause these symptoms?
