Visual disturbances after waking up

Back in late July, I got up and about two thirds of my vision in my left eye was black for several seconds before I could see better with the whole eye.  I was advised to go to the ER when I later reported it.  They did a pituitary MRI (though I didn't feel it was related to my microadenoma) and said the tumor looked like it was getting smaller and they don't know what caused my visual disturbance.

An opthamologist decided it was probably an atypical migraine.  Recently, including this morning, I've had a few times of when I wake up and look at the lighted dial of my clock, I can see it fine right away with my right eye, but had it blurred with my left eye (once) and other times, seeing up to triple of part of the numbers- once up and down, once side to side (this AM).  Today, I tried to keep focusing on the clock with that left eye and after 2-4 seconds it finally focused better.  Another day, twice I opened my eyes and had the left one seeing triple, but later opened my eyes and I saw fine right away with the left.  I called after this episode and the opthamologist still thought it was atypical migraine but said I should come in if concerned.  I didn't feel he would see anything if I went in, so I decided not to. I had a normal visual field test recently (routine because of pit. tumor) and these problems only seem to happen when I've been sleeping and only in my left eye.

I do have dry eyes due to hystectomy and a history of chronic migraines, occasionally with the mirage effect or a couple of times with flashing lights, etc.. But  I wonder if the blurred/up to triple vision upon waking in the one eye is just a normal variant or dry eye, rather than atypical migraine?  Or another idea- do you think I should pursue this further?

This is not related to dry eye.   It is a vascular problem.  It can be due to carotid artery disease if only in one eye.  Both eyes have to be affected in migraine since the problem is in the visual cortex.  See a neuro-ophthalmologist.
