WIOL-CF

Hi, I have floaters that are stuck on my capsularbag, but the only way wash them of is by causing a cataract by scrubbing. But I'm 20 years old and the doctors said to wait until lenses of 8mm would come out.

I've found the WIOL-CF, wich has an 8.9mm optic and an accomodating of 2D with no halos and glare.

But I don't know if it is already on the market or still has to come?
And if it is on the market, is it a good lens?

I believe that the WIOL-CF is currently being tested in Europe and the UK.  It is not available in the USA.  (Try googling.)  You may want to contact the lens manufacturer for the IOL's current status here.  The process of gaining FDA approval can be long and unpredictable.

There seems to be several new and promising accommodating IOLs in the works.  It seems possible that multifocal IOLs will become obsolete technology.

HI

I already had a pars plana vitrectomy in both eyes, all the "floating" floaters have been removed but the ones on the capsular bag can only be removed with scrubbing wich will cause cataract... that is what my doctor said. And I should wait for a 8mm + lens.

Should I maybe see another doctor?
Do you know anything about the WIOL-CF lens?

thanks

I do not understand your problem.  Vitreous (floaters) on the back of the capsular bag can usually be removed by a pars plana vitrectomy.  See a retinal surgeon.
