What are these white spots on my irises?

I have been having some vision problems since middle school (I am 24 now) and I have always had glasses and I had no problems. I just had a new prescription in August and things have been fine up until May when my eyes have really been having some problems that are new. I have a lot of trouble driving at sundown because the sun blinds me and then driving at night has become near impossible. I cannot judge distances, I can't see where curbs are, and headlights blind me. I feel very unsafe driving. I also will see things out of the corner of my eye that aren't there, like something moving on the floor. I recently noticed In a picture with the flash on that there are white spots on my eyes (they are brown) that weren't there before.

I tried to upload two pictures to show, it's in the corner of the eye near the nose. I uploaded it in black and white because you can really see the discoloration

I have an ophthalmologist appointment next week, I have only ever seen an optometrist

Saw the doctor, he said that my eyes once again changed in vision (last exam was August and I had just gotten new lenses) this exam showed that my near sightedness has gotten worse, which he told me that people who are near sighted have trouble seeing at night, and he diagnosed me with k sicca (dry eyes) he saw evidence of dry spots on my eyes and thin tears. We did the schiners test which was normal, but he said this happens in people who have really dry eyes but normal schiners test if they are in the early stages of sjrogrens (I have heard this many times, that all labs will be normal for a few years). I am getting new lenses, using eye drops 3x a day, and if  that doesn't improve night vision we will do tear plugs or the perscription inflammatory eye drops, and I see him in a month
I'm assuming its the ophthalmologist that said this. Look on my home page and scroll through the Journal Blog posts I've done and read the one on dry eyes. I have very dry eyes as does my wife and we both have been on Restasis she for 7 years me for 1.5 years. It takes 6 months to work but its worth it and of course you stay on them forever or until something better comes out. However for people that can keep their eyes comfortable with drops 4 or fewer times/day generally not indicated. I've pretty much given up tear duct plugs in my practice because the all seem to fall out in weeks to months.

Yes I can see the areas of your concern and especially with these being something new they definitely need to be checked out by an ophthalmologist but i can't tell you what they are. Sjorgren's syndrome generally causes severe dry eyes. Lupus can affect any part of the eye from the blood vessels on the back of the eye to even the iris.

Best of luck. Hope its something trivial.

Thanks for your responses. I see the rheumatologist Tuesday to discuss the sjrogrens and lupus (this has been an ongoing issue) and I see an ophthalmologist on Friday, I will update the post after my appointments to let you know if anything was found.

Sorry I looked at the photos but cannot give you any useful information. The cornea is a covex surface that reflects light. If you picture is taken with a glash you will see the flash on the cornea, if you have ambient light you may see light reflexes from these lights. You'll need to see what the ophthalmologist says. take your photos in so he/she will know what you're concerned about.

I took a picture without the flash, the only reason this is concerning to me is because of my changes.

I zoomed in on the eye and put it in black and white so it will show you where the spots are, there on the bottom of the eye and the corner, and this was taken without flash in normal lighting. I hope this helps to clarify

I'm not sure how to edit the post so I'll just add on to it here, but I should note that I have a very extensive medical history and I am currently in the process of being tested for sjrogrens and or lupus
