Floaters

Hello, I have had floaters as long as I can remember, but since march or so i have been getting these rings in my eyes, they seem to come after I wake up from sleeping, or play the trumpet with high notes. I think I saw a light in my eye today, What is this? Is this dangerous?

I can't and won't make any diagnosis on the internet. Also not alllowed by MedHelp.org  What I've said is generally true. Common floaters few, move freely none of the other symptoms

thank you doctor, so are you saying that without any other symptoms you can basically rule out a few floaters as there would be lots which would fill up vision aswell as other worse symptoms?

uveitis and vasculitis are rare eye diseases. When they cause floaters there are often many other more serious problems: pain, redness, sensitivity to light, soreness to touch, reduced vision, floaters are small indiscreet and don't move much, there may be systemic symptoms and peripheral vision is often poor.  By age 50 half of us have floaters. Uveitis and vasculitis occur in less than one in one thousand people.

Just a question doctor, floaters associated with uveitis and vasculitis are they not your average floaters ? i guess what im trying to say is would you notice straight away that these floaters are huge/ different in shape than normal floaters or would there be a mass of them which would indicate there is a problem say in the case of something as serious as uveitis or retinal vasculitis?

It could be serious. See an ophthalmologist to be sure you do not have a hole/tear/detachment of the retina. Be sure it's a physician with a MD behind their name and not OD with is a non-physician, limited care eyeglasses person.
