I'm 21, had eye exam 2-3 months ago (just annual check-up), never worn glasses. Now I'm not sure if this is a more scientific question or a medical one - or both. I see A LOT of questions on here regarding halos/starburst/rainbows. My question is, is it normal to see a 'coloured halo' in particular situations, I've read many post and seen friends who are med students mention how the eye can observe these coloured halos in certain situations or 'angles'. So from being curious about it all, I went outside in the bright sunlight, heild a stainless steel lighter against the sun towards a dark background, at first nothing, but I noticed in a precise angle, when the sunlight beam 'hits' that dead center spot where it is point blank at it's peak in brightness and close to being perfectly in line with your sight - I saw a very faint coloured halo, but like I'm sure you've probably guessed what I'm going to say next - it dissipated as soon as that specific line up was cut, and only re-emerged if I lined it up again accurately. I could do this is both eyes, I'm not sure if you've ever looked at 'halogen' lights, the big bright ones in carkparks etc, but as people on this site and my own witnesses in real life have observed, at a good angle just like the lighter, you can see a blue/green/blue/green halo (extremely hard to see red?). So sorry if this is a odd question but I'd love to know, it's in the back of my mind.
