Central vision comes from the macula. It is where all reading and fine vision comes from. It is the central 5 degrees of vision. Sort of like the bullseye in a target. Peripheral is like the rest of the target and what people call 'side vision'   Macular degeneration damages the central vision; glaucoma the peripheral vision; retinal detachment either but more commonly peripheral unless 'macula off RD"

Thanks so much!
Is it possible to have a wavy and distorted vision without macula Off RD?
My vision is' pinched; in the middle! I had surgery with silicone oil before 1 month.
My doctor says no macula of! Retina on OCT is flat! Strange!
Thanks for your time and patience!
BIG REGARDS!
I'll leave it at this. Only your surgeon can really tell.  To give you proper information a macular OCT is needed. Best case is the oil is causing the problems and will go away when its removed.
I agree with you! THANKS SO MUCH! God bless you!
Amen
