What is better LASIK or ICL surgery ?

I have Myopia ( -5.50 ) in both eyes and have nystagmus by birth & recently diagnosed with micro holes in retina which I got treated by Diode laser . I was planning to have LASIK but I dropped the idea .Now I have found that ICL Surgery are safer than LASIK . Is it so?

Can a person who has been treated holes in retina by Diode laser can opt for ICL Surgery?

Absolutely not!  ICL is surgery INSIDE the eye thus risk of infection, bleeding, small risk loss of eye.  Also ICL has been associated with cataract formation and cornea damage.  LASIK is much safer. HOWEVER there is a new procedure that may be better than either one and it's called the SMILE procedure (Small intrastromal lenticule extraction).  Find a surgeon that does that procedure and get a consult.

thanks I will consult.

Also want to ask I had undergone with Diode laser . Does this Diode laser repairs holes in retina ?
You would need to ask your surgeon. The Diode laser is used for several things the most common being sealing holes and second glaucoma therapy.
Thank you for information.
Sure
Dr Hagan, would transepithelial-PRK (touchless, all lasers) be safer and better than SMILE procedure?
No not safer, not better but much more painful and slower to heal.
Thank you Sir.
SMILE is new procedure and heavily surgeon experienced.  John Doane MD here in Kansas City, MO at Discover Vision Centers is a world expert but more and more good surgeons are available worldwide.
I have saved this information for future reference, and for sharing with my family and friends.  Thank you. :)
Best of luck
