White spot and 'vibrating' peripheral vision.

I’m not sure if this is the right place to post this, so please redirect me if its not. I’m 19 with no known health conditions and recently (about 1 week ago) have begun to see a rather large white, flickering circle in the upper part of my vision when I close my eyes and look down. When my eyes are opened and I look down my upper peripheral vision seems to vibrate. I was worried this could have something to do with retinal tearing or detachment so I went to an opthalmologist. They performed a dilated eye exam and said everything was fine and there is no cause for concern or further examination. However, they could not give a reason for me seeing this white circle/vibrating in peripheral vision when looking down, so I am still very worried. If anyone has any idea what this could be caused by or what I should do, I’d appreciate it. I’m very anxious about this and don’t know what to do and if there’s any cause for concern.

there is no way to tell you for certain what is causing this. Given you are young and healthy and have had a normal eye exam one explanation would be sudden awareness of entoptic phenomena. Read the section on Wikipedia about this. With your eyes closed and looking down as far as you can you might be award of pressure phosgene's from the superior rectus pulling on the eye as maximally stretched with your eyes open and looking down as far as you can you might be aware of 'end point nystagmus"  very few, almost no eye diseases cause the symptoms you describe. If something changes go back to Eye MD for more tests.

Thank you for your reply! I forgot to mention that I am seeing this bright circle and vibrations in one eye only. Would this be in line with the theory that I may have a sudden awareness of entoptic phenomena?
sure one or both.
