alignment of eye

Hello,
I am 20 years old. I do not wear glasses and I do not have any vision problems. But the problem that I want to discuss about does not have any scientific name or term. So it became difficult to deal with it. This condition of mine was first spotted by my teacher in 5th grade. She told me that I am cockide but I am  young and so with therapy I will treat it. I went to the docter and I had the standard eye test of covering one eye with my hand and reading alphabets. The doctor said I had no eye condition and my vision was fine. After that my parents never pointed out any peculiarity nor did my friends. But on self examination this is what I found out: I looked straight in the mirror, my eyes aligned straight. Then I moved my left eye slightly to the left without flinching or moving my right eye. I repeated this exercise with my right eye and found that I my left eye did not move. Th e whole thing seemed to me as if I can control my eyes individually. There was another thing: I could move my left eye left without moving my right and my right eye right without moving my left eye but I could not move my left eye right or my right eye left during the charade. I am aware of this problem since 5th grade and whenever I try to explain this to my parent they always dismiss it sayin I am thing too much into what was a teachers passing comment and anyway I dont have any medical condition according to the doctor and there is no eyesight problem. I have shown my condition to my friends and they have taken considerable fascination into the matter. They occasionally ask me to "do that eye trick of yours" for their amusement. Now the crux of the story is that often when I daydream or when I get unmindful or distracted one of my eyes get unaligned i.e. my left eye moves to the left relative to the right eye or my right eye moves to the right relative to my left eye. Now this can happen when I am sitting on my studytable and studying or when I am in the classroom listening to the teacher or when I am having lunch with a friend. Therefore say that my eye has wandered away. At this point I want to ask that can it be possible that it has a psycological basis because when I am absent-minded or nervous or in anxiety. Also my condition may led other people to believe that I am cockide when my eye wanders away. I want to correct this condition of mine and I am ready to undergo therapy or lifstyle changes even if the solution is long term. Please tell me if the thing has a medical term and if I can take any medicines. I am expecting a reply from you.
Thank you.

Your problem could be an intermittent exotrophia or a "V" pattern exotrophia.
