"fools mission to try and control these dieseases with food and foregoe medications."
It's this kind of ignorance from the conventional medicine that makes me sad. I guess I'm on a fools mission, and have gone from laying in bed without energy to leading a pretty decent life taking nothing but what NATURE has to offer. No wonder I stopped seeing MDs a long time ago.
Kelji79 There are many good books on the AI diets... you might also want to look at the blood type diet/lifestyle, it helped me incredibly in my inital stages. I would also recommend the Autoimmune Epidemic (by Donna Jackson) for autoimmune in general. A good friend also completely cured herself of AI via diet and a bio drainage program taking homeopathic remedies.
The choice is yours, destroy your immune system with conventional meds, or actually heal your body with natural remedies (ONLY your body can heal itself, no meds, nor remedies for that matter).
again I would like to thank you both for your comments and understanding and have looked at both of your veiws. Thanks for taking the time to reply.
Over a period of a year and a half, in my late 50's, I had multiple spradic episodes of uveitis, with and without scleritis, and simultaneously (sometimes but not always) sudden and severe RA-type symptoms and rosacea. Maybe also a few other odd things I've forgotten about. So I definitely agree that auto immune conditions tie in together. I tested positive for rheumatoid factor, but do not know if they ran HLA-B27 on me. The uveitis and steroid eye drops that treated it, gave me a cataract. I waited until the uveitis was in remission for over 6 months, then had the cataract removed without recurrance. This was all about 5 months ago, and "everything" seems to have gone away, knock on wood. Even one thumb joint that was completely disfigured and useless, fixed itself and now looks more or less normal. No idea about the "why" of any of it.
There is extreme controversy over treatments!!! One major problem is that symptoms can simply come and go by themselves, like with me. Another problem is that every patient appears to be completely different.
I have no advice, but can agree that your husband's symptoms are most likely related, and I give you both sympathy and empathy. These are extremely frustrating conditions.
No other forum answers every questions let alone anywhere between 1 to 5 follow up questions. At some point we just can't go any further. For me the - works. I've explained numerous times what it means.
Yes there are many diseases auto-imune in nature that are cured or controlled with anti inflammatory and other classes of drugs: to name a few many cases of rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease, thyroid disease, many forms of uveitis, lupus, Wegeners.
Not all can be cured not all can be controlled but a person is on a fools mission to try and control these dieseases with food and foregoe medications. There are many classes of medications used such as monoclonal antibodies that are not even antiinflammaroy. Physicians also recommend things like fishoil which is a natural antiinflammatory.

Thanks for your support and comments
Well let me ask you this then, have you every heard of anyone actually being cured of autoimmune while taking steroids (which is the only drug given ..or immuno suppressing drugs). It may control some symptoms and progression, but in the end the patient has to keep taking new meds for the havoc they cause on your immune system. Orthodox med has gotten pretty far in researching AI causes, but imo treatment is in its infancy and is too broad.
Btw, it's better to just not answer then leave a dash...many are waiting for answers, and when they check a new post it's pretty discouraging just getting a '-'
the dash - means I've read the discussion to that point and do not feel a need to comment further. I would strenuously disagree with kjeltp about orthodox medicine having little to offer auto-immune disease.

Thanks for the reply, have you got any information on anti inflammatory diets?
Antibody tests can often come back negative, but that doesn't neccessarely mean that it isn't autoimmune.
Get your husband on an anti inflammatory diet, and look into seeing a holistic practitioner and nutrionist. Orthodox medicine has little to offer if its AI disease.
Yes read paragraph two in my previous answer
JC MD
he had the HLA-B27 done (only because we asked to have it done) and it came back negative have you got any other ideas?
Yes they are often related especially the back problem usually a HLA-B27 antigen is ordered and inflammatory bowel disese.
Suggest you consider seeing an Eye MD that specializes in uveitis and also a rheumatologist.
