Broken Vessel slight pain?

Okay so over memorial day weekend I had a nasty cold and I was coughing and sneezing horribly near the end of the weekend when I was getting over it and behold I noticed a broken blood vessel in my eye.  I still have it and don't really notice much change, but it may be getting smaller actually I don't know, and up until yesterday I started having a slight headache and acheness in my eyes (both eyes, right one has the vessel.) but it only really started when I started thinking about it.  I am very scared, but is it possibly my anxiety could be causing the pain?

Okay. Thank you very much. The anxiety thing explains the partial headache and eye pains.

varies with the amount of blood from a day or two to as long as 2-3 weeks to be white like before

Thank you so much! That helps. So around how long until it heals? I believe I got it around Saturday or Sunday

That type of problem is usually caused by a subconjunctival hemorrhage and is normally harmless unless a person is on blood thinners. Sometimes the blood can cause minor irritation but most pain is due to worry and anxiety over the scary appearance of the eye.
