bilateral vitreous detachment concern

In Oct 2010 over a period of a few days I developed quite a few floaters in my right eye. I saw my opthamologist that week and was told I had a Vitreous detachment. Late December I had an episode of approx 20 minutes of "flashing" in my left eye and now a few faint floaters in that eye. Saw my doc for my scheduled 3 month FU and he's advising another FU in 7 months. I have very mild myopia and presbyopia which developed in my late 30's. Other than degnerative lumbar disc disease I have no other medical issues.  The flashers in my R eye can cause a transient "blur". I would like to see a specialist for a second opinion. I live in Staten Island, NYC. Would you have any comments or recommendations?
Thank you.

Sorry -- I meant the floaters in my R eye create a transient blur.
Am concerned about this onset of significant floaters in Oct in the R eye, then the Flashing episode in the L eye in Dec. Can you recommend any MD's in NYC for a second opinion?

20 minutes of flashing is not in your retina.  It is probably migraine.
