can a slit lamp notice cataracts, eye pressure amd glaucoma ?

Hi I'm new here  and farsighted in both eyes ? I'm just wondering if the slot lamp examination see cataracts, glaucoma and eye pressure?

Farsighted or hyperopic just means you have a shorter than normal eye. Many young people are farsighted and DON"T need glasses. "Slit lamp"  (biomicroscope) can see cataracts, can be used with a Goldman tonometer to measure IOP (intraocular pressure) but is not the best instrument to determine glaucoma

Would it be able to detect glaucoma though cause some optometrist especially mine only use slit lamp and nothing else so that's why I'm wondering if it can detect glaucoma

No it would not and you cannot conduct a complete eye exam using just a slit lamp other instruments and tests are needed. I strongly suggest you see an Eye MD ophthalmologist rather than a non physician optometrist.

Can an ophthalmoscope detect glaucoma because they also use that ?

Ophthalmologists and optometrists both can diagnose glaucoma but they use: slit lamp, ophthalmoscopes, fundus lens, visual fields, gonioscopy, OCT, corneal pachymetry.
