cataract lens

Hi l have been told l need cataract surgery in a year or two. At the moment l still have excellent 20/20 vision distance vision without glasses , if l go with mono focal distance lens is there any  risk l could loose my good 20/20 vision or need to wear glasses to have good distance vision . if for example they get the eye or lens focus measurement slightly incorrect or dont place the lens in the exact right spot. l am prepared to wear glasses for reading but dont want to have to wear glasses for distance such as TV or driving or outdoors . Even with mono distance lens is there a risk or needing glasses for distance or would that be highly unlikely or near impossible? . Also are there some mono focal distance lens that give better or clearer vision then others , for example for more expensive mono lens or are they all pity much the same in quality of vision

You don't need cataract surgery until you are very unhappy with your vision, with the best glasses you can get and it is bad enough to consider cataract surgery. Chances are that is more than a year or two away.  Things change fast in eye surgery.
