The cataract is a dirty brown color that acts like an internal pair of sunglasses. For many, many years she has had the light filtered by these cataracts. Now she is seeing through a crystal clear implant. Seeing brighter is a good thing. Most eye surgeons or hospitals or ASCs provide "cataract goggles) to wear during the first few weeks after surgery.
Generally by the time glasses are prescribed usually 3-6 weeks post op the eye has made the adjustments. If still somewhat sensitive a tint can be put in the new glasses.
