dizzy from reading

Hi,

My eye doc diagnosed me the beginning of the year with a slight astigmatism. I am in college and read a lot. Sometimes when I am reading I get a little dizzy- like the words are moving on the page or shaking back and forth. Is this from the astigmatism? I am 27. I wear contacts (I am near sided), but not made for astigmatism. Any suggestions?? thank you!

Thank you. I think it might be the lighting in my living room. It is not too bright. I think I will try adding a light. If this doesnt help I will go see the doc. Thanks again!

Convergeance insufficiency is a possible explanation.  Also, your contacts could be over or underpowered.  Could just be eye fatigue or not using enough light.  Possible solutions include seeing ophthalmologist to check your convergeance, making sure you have correct contact lens correction, taking breaks during reading to relax your eyes, and using proper light.
