eyes burnt from fire on candles

so, i was celebrating my birthday and when i bent down to blow out the candles,  i accidentally went super close to the fire on the candles. my eyes were kind of hurting and burning. will this damage any parts of my eyes , now ? and if it is damaged , what might the symptoms or signs be? please, i'm really scared and i need an accurate answer.......

If there were damage severe pain and blurred vision would be expected

I just wanted to know, like if your eyes didn't touch the fire, but were really close to the candles, there wouldn't be any damages, right?

You would have to get awfully close to damage the eye. Serious symptoms would include severe pain, severe blurred vision.
